BE LIT was founded in 2025 by educator and visionary Felicia Quinton with a simple yet powerful idea: small changes create lasting impact. Like the flutter of a butterfly’s wings, a spark of literacy can shift a life, a family, and a community. Through personalized tutoring, enrichment programs, and youth-focused events, we aim to close literacy gaps, boost confidence, and build a new generation of strong readers and creative thinkers.
Whether it’s helping a student find joy in reading or guiding families through academic success strategies, BE LIT is a safe space where everyone is empowered to rise, one page at a time.

Hi, I’m Felicia Quinton, the founder of Butterfly Effect Literacy (BE LIT). I’m deeply passionate about transforming lives and communities through the power of literacy. With over 20 years of experience as an educator, I’ve dedicated my career to helping students and families unlock their full potential by fostering a love for reading and learning. Born and raised in Chicago, and now living in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina, I combine my background in educational leadership and curriculum development with a heart for service to create programs that make literacy accessible and exciting for everyone. I hold two master’s degrees and am currently completing my doctorate in Educational Leadership. Through BE LIT, I offer tutoring, workshops, and community events designed to inspire readers, writers, and lifelong learners. I truly believe in the butterfly effect—small changes, like opening a book, can create powerful ripple effects that transform the lives of learners each year.
